New Orleans Saints vs Cleveland Browns
September 16, 2018 - Home games for the New Orleans Saints always bring a crowd with a wave of football energy to the city. Living only three hours away, it is an easy trip for me and I do love going to New Orleans any chance I get. The Saints just lost to Tampa Bay the previous weekend, but they had two wins before that. I went with Kevin, Chris and Tracy. Chris and Tracy are die-hard Cleveland Brown fans.

New Orleans After the Saints Game NOPSI Hotel

NOPSI Hotel
The Saints game was over by mid-afternoon that Sunday and probably over 70,000 people poured out into the streets making their way to their vehicles, hotels or bars. We were right in the middle of them. I love leaving the Superdome and walking right down the middle of Poydras Street with everyone else like a Mardi Gras parade of people through New Orleans' Central Business District.

Hot Tin Rooftop Garden District Bar Great City View

View of New Orleans CBD from Hot Tin rooftop bar.
After we left New Orleans' CBD (Central Business District) in an Uber, we stopped at The Pontchartrain Hotel on St. Charles Street. I had wanted us to take the streetcar, but I was voted down as our drinks were kicking in. It was probably the better decision as I remember the rooftop bar, but not eating dinner in the downstairs restaurant (Kevin and Chris tell Tracy and me that the escargot and the octopus were superb - I'll be back to try them again).

Breakfast on Magazine Street at Vintage and Champagne on Tap

We had to leave New Orleans the next morning, but we did it memorably with breakfast at The Vintage on Magazine Street and champagne on tap - yes, champagne on tap. Kevin has a great friend, Stephanie, who works at The Vintage so it is becoming a tradition to stop by there on our way out of the city. Stop by and have some delicious sweet or savory beignets with your on-tap bubbles. Thanks Stephanie!
